Pride, in the name of love
I love seeing photos from San Francisco’s annual pride parade. (Click through to SF Gate for more like the one above.)
Those in the parade and watching it go by are resplendent in their glory, fearlessness and celebration.
It’s maddening to think that, on other days, the true beneficiaries of this event do not feel as free as I do. That they may be mocked, harassed or otherwise abused.
It’s hard to fathom that, in this day and age, people direct hate towards those whose life is different from theirs. Then again, given our current political climate, perhaps it’s not quite as hard to imagine, I am so sorry to say.
I am proud to live in a corner of the country where LBGQT people are more likely to be treated as people. We are all one human family.
