Bravery is in the eye of the beholder
April 11, 2017
Bravery is delivering a 13 pound baby without an epidural, as this mom in Australia did. Damn, girl.
We all have different ideas of what bravery means to us. And there’s usually a different level of judgment for us and other people.
A soldier fighting a battle is certainly brave- moving headfirst into known danger. Would you agree?
And a woman giving birth to a 13-pound baby without an epidural…do you consider that brave?
Bravery is in the eye of the beholder. step out of your comfort zone and try a little bit of bravery on. See how it feels and let me know.

When you think about it, there are so many ways people are brave every day. Maybe not in big, glamorous ways or even ways that are seen by another. Life can be hard and sometimes it takes a bravery unnoticed.
Birthing a baby at all is a courage that is to be celebrated – but a 13-lb one? wowza! many blessings on her.

I agree. It’s a good practice to notice all the little ones.
