Mr. Roboto
“Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto, domo, domo, domo, domo.”
I hear him through the closed door singing while playing in the next room. I chuckle softly to myself. It’s nearly as funny as when my 5 1/2-year-old sings Twisted Sister and acts out the video. [He prefers the extended version.]
As someone who lives her life through song, I want to share with my son the gifts of music. I noticed too much time (for my liking) being spent on kid’s music, so I determined to expand his mind.
I started with songs that include things he’s interested in – the rocket ship takes off at the beginning of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” there’s lots of roaring in Katy Perry’s “Roar” and he loves Queen’s “We Will Rock You.”
After a recent road trip, I told him that, on the next one, we’re going to sing in the car together. I can’t wait.
I have a lot of fond memories from childhood of listening to music with my dad. Sounds like you are making similar ones with Leon. I love it!
