Embracing the World of Podcasts
April 22, 2016
I’m opening my brain and heart more these days than ever before to new ideas via books, podcasts and articles that expand my horizons.
I’ve just finished listening to Tim Ferriss’ interview of Derek Sivers: Derek Sivers on Developing Confidence, Finding Happiness, and Saying “No” to Millions
If you are interested in hearing other people’s stories with the mindset that you can learn from others wisdom, stories and experiences, then I recommend this podcast. His way of thinking is so far from mine, and there is so much value in me releasing some of my ideals and embracing his.
Things seem effortless for him, as I wish they were more for me.

Abbe, Derek Sivers! No kidding!! (and no surprise) That guy started/inspired an awesome musician website for selling your own music back in the 90’s called CDBaby.com. I sold a good handful of stuff there with my band. It was an empowering website with all kinds of very useful tips for musicians/bands. It got some of my music to random folks in Germany, Ireland, Japan etc.. Cool he’s continuing to help the world!

You should check out one of his Ted Talks. Or even better is the (lengthy) interview he did with Tim Ferris of 4 hour work week. He tells the story of CD Baby and how it came to be. He’s a really interesting guy. http://fourhourworkweek.com/2015/12/14/derek-sivers-on-developing-confidence-finding-happiness-and-saying-no-to-millions/

I think my favorite line from this podcast is, “the regular pace is for chumps.” It has sort of become a mantra for me.
