I just blew your mind out of your head

Last week, we has one unusually hot day — it got up to the high 80sF. We had some freak heat wave in the middle of our warm Bay Area Spring. I put my son into bed and told him not to put the blanket around his body because I didn’t want him to overheat.

I walked away to put away some things in the room and returned to his bedside for another kiss goodnight.

“Mom, do you see this?” What? “I just blew your mind out of your head.” What are you talking about, I asked, laughing. “I put the blanket on my body!” Mind. Blown. But for a totally different reason than what he thought.
