Let me blow your mind
I introduced my Hubster to the concept of rolling his socks. In fact, I think I blew his mind.
I’m talking about putting the socks together and then rolling them up to form an elongated ball-like shape. (Still confused? See photo.) I’ve done it as long as I can remember to save space in my drawers. The drawers don’t look neat and organized, but what sock drawer does? Added bonuses are you keep pairs easily together and…does it really need further explanation?
When we first moved in together – probably the first time I washed and folded all the laundry – I rolled my beloved Hubster’s (then living-in-sin-partner’s) socks. He, not from this country, couldn’t imagine the crazy sock madness I was up to.
Is it cultural, this sock-rolling phenomenon? Geographical, perhaps? Do young Japanese girls roll their Hello Kitty socks? What about those, ahem, European men who wear tall black socks with sandals? I need to know more.
In my mind’s eye, I hear Jerry Seinfeld nasally asking: “whyyy do people roll their socks?”
My wife tried to roll my socks… problem is that the elastic on one of the socks gets stretched and they don’t stay up on my skinny legs anymore….
